Hunting Island State Park is a 5,000 acre secluded semi-tropical barrier island consisting of mash areas, maritime forests, a saltwater lagoon and an ocean inlet. Its vast array of land and marine wildlife make it one of the most beautiful, wild and rustic gems in the South Carolina State Park system. Major beach erosion over the past 40 years and two recent hurricanes have taken its toll, but the island still holds its place as the single most popular park in the South Carolina State Park system. These pieces were crafted from wood harvested during the Hurricane Matthew and Irma cleanups.
